The world of behavioral health can be scary and overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be.
From initial diagnosis to kindergarten readiness, we’re here to guide you through it all.
Early Learner Sessions
Research has shown that a child’s brain develops rapidly in their first three years of life, meaning that immense growth is possible during this time. If you’re concerned about your child’s development, intervening early can help your child improve their current skills and learn new skills while laying a solid foundation for future success.
Our Early Learner Sessions are designed to promote skill development in children ages 18 months to 4 years old through naturalistic teaching methods and play-based, scientifically-validated approaches. For children with Down syndrome or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), these sessions can also address core deficits in language development, social skills, and restricted, repetitive patterns of behaviors related to such diagnoses.
Sessions are conducted 1:1 in the home or in the community, are tailored to your child’s unique needs, and are ideal for families seeking meaningful part-time support.
Here are just a few things that we target during our early learner sessions:
Communication training (ASL, PECs, or verbal language)
Following instructions
Independence with routines such as eating and dressing
Functional play skills
Decreasing rote, repetitive behaviors
Joint attention and overall attending skills
Interacting with peers or siblings
…and more!
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”
